Der Drenthepad
Der Drenthepad ist der älteste ausgeschilderte Fernwanderweg der Niederlanden. Offiziell beginnt er am Bahnhof von Beilen. Die rund 360 Kilometer  lange Strecke furt drei Nationalparks uns zwei UNESCO-gebiete. De wanderweg is in Geld-Rot ausgeschildert.

Wander-Etappe 8.
Fast unbemerkt wanderst du entlang der grünen Westseite von Roden durch eine unberührte Landschaft aus Wald und Wiesen. Vor tausend Jahren bearbeiteten hier Mönche die Felder und backten Dachziegel aus dem gewonnenen Ton. Der „Natural Beauty“-Wald bietet eine wunderschöne prähistorische Pingo-Ruine und nicht viel später spazieren Sie durch das Nienoord-Anwesen, das Sie überraschen wird. Die Wälder werden zu einer Natur aus Wegen und Deichen entlang der Ränder des Leekstermeeres und der Feuchtwiesen der Onlanden und bieten einen Blick auf die Skyline der Stadt Groningen.

The Drenthepad
The Drenthepad, the oldest signposted long-distance footpath in the Netherlands, officially begins its scenic journey. The trail spans more than 360 kilometres, passing through three National Parks and two UNESCO areas. The path is waymarked with yellow/red signs.

Stage 8.
Almost unnoticed, you walk along the green west side of Roden through an untouched landscape of forest and meadows. Monks worked the fields here a thousand years ago and baked roof tiles from the clay they extracted. The forest ‘Natuurschoon’ offers a beautiful prehistoric pingo ruin and not much later you walk over Landgoed Nienoord, which will surprise you. The forests become a nature of paths and dikes along the banks of the Leekstermeer and the wet meadows of the Onlanden and a view of the skyline of the city of Groningen.
