Der Drenthepad
Der Drenthepad ist der älteste ausgeschilderte Fernwanderweg der Niederlanden. Offiziell beginnt er am Bahnhof von Beilen. Die rund 360 Kilometer  lange Strecke furt drei Nationalparks uns zwei UNESCO-gebiete. De wanderweg is in Geld-Rot ausgeschildert.

Wander-Etappe 12.
Sie wandern noch immer an den Flanken des Hondsrug, wo vor 5.000 Jahren Menschen lebten. Plötzlich läuft man auf einer alten Bahnstrecke mit hohen Mauern links und rechts. Der nächste Höhepunkt ist das Drouwenerzand, ein „karges, tödliches Sandmeer“, wie die Menschen früher sagten, das heute ein wunderschönes Naturschutzgebiet ist. Sie setzen Ihren Weg über die Ostflanken fort und sehen, wie schön das Hunze-Flusstal ist. Nach Bronneger stoßen Sie auf Grabhügel und fünf prähistorische Grabkammer, die dicht beieinander liegen.

Stage 12.
You are still walking on the flanks of the Hondsrug where people lived 5000 years ago. Suddenly you are walking on an old railway line with high walls on the left and right. The next highlight is the Drouwenerzand, a ‘barren deathly sea of ​​sand’ as they used to say but now a beautiful nature reserve. You continue your way over the eastern flanks and see how beautiful the Hunze river valley is and after Bronneger you come across burial mounds and five dolmens close together.
