Der Drenthepad
Der Drenthepad ist der älteste ausgeschilderte Fernwanderweg der Niederlanden. Offiziell beginnt er am Bahnhof von Beilen. Die rund 360 Kilometer  lange Strecke furt drei Nationalparks uns zwei UNESCO-gebiete. De wanderweg is in Geld-Rot ausgeschildert.

Wander-Etappe 4.
Wieder einmal betreten Sie einen Nationalpark. Der Drents Friese Wold ist einer der umfangreichsten. Naturschutzgebiete, in denen Flora und Fauna im ruhigen Kern im Vordergrund stehen. Ausgedehnte Wälder, in denen das Versteck „De Wigwam“ gut versteckt war, wechseln sich ab mit offenen Feldern, dem riesigen Wapserveld und schon bald gelangt man zum Aekingerzand oder „Kale Duinen“, einem riesigen Flugsandgebiet, in dem es kaum Vegetation gibt. Wind und Sand haben hier freien Spielraum und es bleibt ein dynamisches Gebiet, das sich ständig verändert.

The Drenthepad
The Drenthepad, the oldest signposted long-distance footpath in the Netherlands, officially begins its scenic journey. The trail spans more than 360 kilometres, passing through three National Parks and two UNESCO areas. The path is waymarked with yellow/red signs.

Stage 4.
Once again you walk into a National Park. The Drents Friese Wold is one of the most extensive nature reserves where flora and fauna come first in the quiet core. Vast forests, where the hiding place ‘De Wigwam’ was well hidden, alternate with open fields, the vast Wapserveld and soon you come to the Aekingerzand or ‘Kale Duinen’, an enormous drifting sand area where there is hardly any vegetation. Wind and sand have free rein here and so it remains a dynamic area that is constantly changing.
